Continental Tires Launches the Hari Raya Tyre Safety Check Campaign 2015

  • Continental aims to educate the importance of proper tyre maintenance to ensure road safety among general motorists

June 1st, 2015, Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Selangor - Hari Raya Tyre Safety Check Campaign 2015, jointly organized by Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd, scheduled from 12th June to 5th July 2015, is aimed at educating the general motorist to cultivate tyre safety habits and prioritize vehicle tyre maintenance to ensure a safe trip “balik kampung”.

 

Officiating the launch of this event at Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd was Mr. Benoit Henry, Executive Vice President of Business Region Asia Pacific Truck Tire, Business Unit CVT and Chief Executive Officer of Continental Tyre Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Mr. Cameron Wilson, Vice President of Marketing & Sales PLT & TT Malaysia, Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd, and Tuan Haji Jasmi bin Yusoff, Director, Policy and Innovation Division, Road Safety Department (JKJR).

 

The purpose of this launch is to highlight & remind the general motorist the importance of proper tyre maintenance in ensuring road safety for themselves and other road users during the festive season of Hari Raya. “We believe that by conducting the Hari Raya Tyre Safety Check Campaign will assist the government in promoting awareness of road safety and will reduce road accidents during the festive season.” Said by Mr. Cameron Wilson, Vice President of Marketing & Sales PLT & TT Malaysia, Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd.

 

Mr. Cameron Wilson added “Correct tyre inflation pressure and sufficient tread depth are essential to ensure safe motoring. Without these measures, emergency stopping distances can be much longer which means more accidents at higher impact speeds. So clearly, correct tyre inflation, sufficient tread depth as well as choosing quality tyres such as Continental’s can make the difference between life and death.”

 

Hari Raya Tyre Safety Check Campaign 2015, the inaugural event that is jointly organized with Shell Malaysia Trading Sdn Bhd, a corporate social responsibility initiative, complementing the efforts of Jabatan Keselamatan Jalan Raya (JKJR) to promote road safety awareness and education. To create this awareness, Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd will conduct tyre safety checks and tyre care demonstration at 21 Shell petrol stations nationwide.

 

In addition, participants of Hari Raya Tyre Safety Check Campaign will receive a booklet from Continental Tyre PJ Malaysia Sdn Bhd featuring tyre maintenance tips, Continental premiums and a RM50 voucher for Continental tyre purchase.
