Experts tested five tire models for camper vans in size 235/65 R 16 C/CP
ContiVanContact 200 received top marks for dry braking distances, aquaplaning, handling, and rolling resistance
The ContiVanContact 200 received the top "highly recommended" rating in the latest summer tire test by the editors of promobil magazine (4/15 issue).
Experts put five models in size 235/65 R 16 C / CP, manufactured in Europe and Asia, through a range of tests covering a total of 14 points on wet and dry road surfaces.
In their conclusion, the testers commented that the Continental van tire had: "Very good longitudinal aquaplaning, along with respectable performance and safe road handling in the wet, short braking distances, immediate steering response, and secure lateral guidance on dry roads. Very low rolling resistance."
The ContiVanContact 200 is a tire for transporters, vans, and camper vans. With its stripes in the center of the tread and its grooves, it delivers safety even when braking on rain-soaked roads. Its macro block profile and sturdy tread center provide precise handling even under heavy loads. With its 15% lower rolling resistance in comparison to predecessor models, it helps achieve a noticeable reduction in fuel consumption. Currently, 15 tire sizes are available for transporters and camper vans for rims with diameters between 15 and 17 inches and load capacities of up to 1,150 kg per tire.
